Stage 1 Psychology

Year 11 Psychology A

Subject Overview

Psychology is a subject that helps us understand why people think, feel, and act the way they do. It looks at what we all have in common and also at how we can be different from each other, including the different cultures we come from. It studies how people’s behaviours can change and how this can help make our communities better and fairer for everyone. Psychology teaches us how to help improve people’s lives and the health of our society, but it also reminds us to be careful because changes can sometimes cause problems. The ethics of research and intervention are therefore an integral part of psychology. Psychology A will focus on memory as well as forensic psychology.
